Sunday Snapshot:
Welcome
to the Internet home of Grace Bible Church. We are a non-denominational
church with a sincere desire to glorify and serve God in our community.
When you come to visit, we promise never to single you out by asking you to
stand or speak. Also, we want you to dress comfortably. You will see
jeans and t-shirts in our services. Our
"family worship" style is relaxed and informal. We believe that
combined worship strengthens families and allows for growth as all ages
interact. On occasion, people from all walks of life share personal
testimonies about real life struggles and victories. Our music blends
today's praise choruses with the old hymns you love. Communion tables are
prepared each week and those who wish to participate are asked to go to the
tables at a designated time. Regular attendees who support the mission of
GBC know where to place their financial gifts, therefore we do not pass an
offering plate in our services. Your
presence is a gift to us, that's all we want from you. We hope this
has provided a snapshot of a typical Sunday morning at GBC. Please
look around the site and if you don't find your questions answered here, please
contact us. We hope to see you soon. May God richly bless your
family.
History of GBC:
On January 4,
2004, a group of 18 believers gathered in a living room in Clark
county
for the purpose of
organizing and planting a new church in the downtown area of Winchester.
Pastors Lee Cruse and Verne Mohr were called as pastor and associate pastor
respectively of the new church which was to become Grace Bible Church, Inc. Soon
after the initial gathering, the group began meeting at The Winchester
Presbyterian Church, located on the corner of Lexington Ave.
and Highland St. In February 2004, GBC leased a storefront at 117 N. Main
Street, where we reside
today. After preparations and improvements were made, the church held it's
first service on Main Street April
11, 2004.
