Revelation 2:4: "Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place- unless you repent."

Our Lord, in having John to write to one of the seven churches in Asia, the Church at Ephesus. He tells them to remember from where they had fallen and then He tells them that if they don’t He would remove their lampstand. Lampstand illuminate’s things and gives off light so it has influence. He was saying He would take away their influence.

We as the Church today, should be concerned that the Lord will take away our influence and yet we see that very thing is happening today. The world is going to Hell in a handbasket and the church sets back and watches.

Do we not see how far we have fallen? History teaches that our forefathers founded this country on a Biblical world view. The Branches of government we have, come from Isaiah 33:22. In the early 1800’s the two best selling books were the New England Primer and the Bible, the Bible being first.

In schools, the New England Primer was used, and Scripture and Prayer was taught, how to use God’s law. Then came John Dewey, which the Dewey System for Libraries came along and said there is no God, no room for moral absolutes.

When Harvard was established and founded by the Puritans, they said, “The end of all study is to know God” And the motto of Harvard was Truth for Christ, today it is just truth. The seal at Columbia contained scripture. When the Northwest Ordinance was signed Article 3 stated that Religion must be taught in school. Noah Webster stood in Church one Sunday and testified that “God was leading him to write a dictionary”. The rotunda in our nations’ capitol is all religious.

Go back and read the speeches that our fore fathers gave and see how many times they referred to the Lord Jesus, how many times they stated that you can’t have order which comes from absolute morality without a Biblical World View. John Adams stated that our Constitution was made only for religious and moral people.

When the Mayflower Compact is taught in your taxpayer schools, the real purpose of why the Pilgrims came is left out: to establish a foothold for the Kingdom of God and to be free to worship.

We look around us today and we don’t even recognize our own country. There are those who are trying to dethrone The Lord God Almighty from His throne and replace it with the state. How far have we fallen, when political correctness means more to people than the word of God, which is under attack.

Hosea 13:6 says, “When they had pasture, they were filled; They were filled, and their heart was exalted; Therefore, they forgot me."

It is time that we as Christians and a church stood up and voiced our opinion. It is time that we as God’s people stood upon the word of God without wavering. The Lord has not called us just to go along with the world, He has called us to come out from the word and to stand, in fact it says, “having done all to stand” May I ask, have you done all to stand?

Pastor Lee Cruse, I believe that there is a battle on the horizon and the storm clouds are gathering. May the Lord give us grace and strength to stand in the power of the Lord and His might. But stand!

Proverbs 31:10: "Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies."

Proverbs 31:27-28, 30: "She watches over the ways of her household. Her children rise up and call her blessed … But a women who fears the Lord, she shall be praised."

There are many relationships in life and they are all precious to us but there is something different about the relationship of a mother. When a women comes to the place that they are enlightened that God has given them this wonderful relationship of being a mom.

It is almost like a calling that you accept the role of mother. I know that it is a natural event to give birth and you are considered a mother because you gave birth. But when a women realizes what responsibility the Lord has called them too and they accept it, what a difference. It is like dropping a rock in a pond or lake and the ripples flow outward effecting all things around it.

I have seen big strong men break down to nothing with the voice of their mother. Men who said they didn’t care about what people thought and yet were scared to death their mother would find out what they were doing.

I have seen women who were barely five foot tall and barely weighed a hundred pound and yet they carried so much influence over their sons.

We today live in a world where that kind of women is no longer the norm. The women who is independent, career minded, who would fit more on the cover of Cosmopolitan seems to be the norm.

There is nothing wrong with that kind of life style but if you are not careful you miss out on one of the greatest callings the Lord has for a women to be called mother.

I believe the devil and the world have tried to diminish or downgrade the role of being a mother. What a shame that we have allowed the lie that some believe the role of women or mother to be less than who God created them to be.

Is there any other greater calling than to pour your life into a boy or girl who calls you mom? To some day look and see a strong young man or refined young women standing before you. To know that you raised them up in  the admonition and the love of the Lord.

Of course, we need to realize that the reward for that kind of sacrifice of life will not be recognized in this life but in the next life to come.

Today, if you are fortunate to be raised by this kind of women, then you need to tell her how much you love her and appreciate her. Now comes the time in her life that she needs to see the fruits of her labors. For you her son or her daughter

should demonstrate how Christ lives in you, is there any greater reward that her children should rise up and call her blessed.

I can’t say this for sure but I believe that when we get to Heaven mothers will have a special place. Someone will ask what did she do on earth, well she was a mother and that person will be blown away, what an honor.

Pastor Lee Cruse, who looks forward to someday to be with his mother again in Heaven.

Jeremiah 1:4-5  Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying:      "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations."

It is hard to believe that it has been 14 years since the very first service of Grace Bible Church.  We met in a home and had 18 people and then in the old church on the corner of Lexington Ave. and Highland for 3 to 4 months.  The Lord then lead us to Main St. across from the Post Office. Until 4 years ago when we purchased the property that we are now in.

It is by faith that we started this journey and it is a whole lot easier to look back, for when we do what we see is the Lord’s hand, and how all along He was working and leading.  It was 19 years ago when the Lord began to lay upon my heart to get a building to start an independent work. When the Lord begins to move upon your heart, the first thing you think is that this is just you or your ego, or the pizza you ate the night before.  But for me the thought would not go away.

When the Lord begins to impress upon you His will and the thoughts persist then you need to pay attention.  When I finally expressed what the Lord was laying on my heart to Crickett she thought I was nuts. But 5 years later He did the work in her heart as well.  I think the 5 years before Crickett came on board was for me alone, because timing to the Lord is everything.

What I am saying is that God had a plan for us, just as He has a plan for your life.  When the Word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, notice God’s plan for Jeremiah started before He was even born.  The Lord said, “before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations”.

The Lord in my life, laid it all out in front of me, before I ever saw it for myself.  He helped me become the Principal of Fannie Bush Elementary because He wanted this ground to some day be a light house of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  He wanted a place where the Grace of God would be expounded, where those who had failed and sinned found a refuge and hope for the future. A place where it didn’t matter how much money you had or your status in life everyone was equal.  A place where the down trodden and the poor could get a good meal or their kids could find good clothing to wear. Where those that were addicted to drugs or alcohol could be helped to overcome.

I want you to realize that the Lord wants to do the very same thing in your life, in your family or your business.  If we will but only put Him first within our life.

When we at Grace look back over the history of this church we have a rich history of what God has done.   But He is not done with us yet, the future is bright and the possibilities are immense. My prayer for us as a Church is that we will look to the Lord and what His will is, and not take a step until we know He has told us to go to the left or to the right.  I also pray that the impact that we will have on this town will grow greater and greater.

Pastor Lee Cruse and Crickett; who are blessed to be the pastor for these past 14 years and in the years to come, of Grace Bible Church.
