Grace Bible Academy

Christian Elementary School in Winchester, KY

About GBA

Grace Bible Academy is a Christian school located in Winchester, Kentucky. In the fall of 2018, we began with our kindergarten program and will continue adding grades each year and grow with this kindergarten class as the Lord leads us with the intent of offering a full education from kindergarten through high school.  In the fall of 2019, we will be adding our first grade class!

The mission of Grace Bible Academy is to raise a generation of strong Christians that will have a positive impact on Winchester, Kentucky by offering an affordable, Christ-centered quality education, and also provide students with the opportunity to build and practice spiritual habits.

At Grace Bible Academy, the Lord is first.  We begin each day with prayer, our students lead prayer at all of our meals, we have Bible time daily, and we have chapel weekly.   We are trying to lay the foundation that is in Jesus Christ and we will build on that foundation as our students mature.  GBA uses the BJUPress curriculum.  BJUPress places a particular focus on teaching reading through phonics and mathematics through spiral sequence.  We believe these approaches allow children to not only learn concepts, but master them. Our goal is for students to grow spiritually and thrive academically.
You can learn more about BJUPress and their approach to learning here.

GBA provides an exciting and innovative learning environment.  We offer, and are committed to keeping, smaller class sizes to offer more individualized instruction.  We believe smaller class sizes provide a better learning environment for our students.  Smaller class sizes allow us the opportunity to work with children individually to ensure they are developing and mastering the skills they will need to be successful as they progress academically.  We are excited to use a combination of traditional and non-traditional teaching methods, hands-on, individual, and group activities in our classroom to provide a unique and engaging learning experience for our students.

Grace Bible Academy also offers afterschool child care for students of Justice Elementary, Conkwright Elementary, and Baker Intermediate and full day care for elementary school students of Clark County when school is not in session (i.e. for fall break, spring break, summer break, and snow days). We offer homework help during the school year, opportunities for quiet and active play, fun art projects, music, and other fun activities! You can see more images from our program on our

Why is a Christian education important?

Why is a Christian education so important? Why should I pay for my child's education when public school is free?

This is one of the many questions parents have when they find out about our school.  Public schools are centered on a secular worldview. A secular worldview teaches:
- God does not exist
- We are cosmic accidents
- Hope is only found in scientific discovery
- Religion and science are opposed to each other
- Science is based on fact while religion is based on faith, fear, and ignorance
- Morality is relative. What is wrong for you may not be wrong for me
- There is no absolute standard of right and wrong because there is no absolute lawgiver
- The Bible is full of errors and irrelevant to modern life

The result of this is clear.  In research conducted by  Thom S. Rainer & Jess W. Rainer in "The Millenials", they found:
- 80% of the 15-35 year-olds in America declare they are not born again
- 94% do not believe in one or more of the cardinal doctrines of Christianity
- 76% do not attend church

We want to raise the children of Winchester to have a Christian worldview.  We believe the words of
Proverbs 22:6 (NIV): "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."  Not only that, but we want to see a generation of Bible-believing Christians that will influence the culture and have a positive impact on Winchester, Kentucky and bring glory to God’s kingdom.  All of that starts with a Christian education that centers on a biblical worldview.  Our goal is to provide a Christian education that is affordable for families.

We believe God's Word is truth and we believe that we need to start children off with the foundation that is Jesus Christ. At Grace Bible Academy, children will not only receive a high quality education, but an education that:

  • Builds upon the foundation of Jesus Christ
  • Is conducted in a loving, Christian environment and in accordance with the truth of Scripture in areas such as creation and morality.
  • Is centered around a biblical worldview
  • Enables your children to know that they have a purpose in Jesus Christ
